While Cuyahoga Valley National Park may not get the appreciation it deserves from out of state visitors, people like me, who live in Northeast Ohio and enjoy natural settings over city life, the park is a wonderful resource. Despite its relatively small size for a National Park, being nestled between Cleveland to the north and Akron to the south, the park is actually an impressive amount of area that’s been reserved for recreation and preservation. Given the fact that much of it has been restored to this state after being highly developed (and as a result polluted) for commercial use, its a great example of what urban areas can accomplish along the lines of providing green space to its residents.
