Waco Mammoth National Monument consists of a visitor center and the dig shelter that contains the remnants of the dig where the mammoths were found in Waco. Connecting the two is a system of paved and dirt paths. Despite how contained they are, I still managed to sort of get lost during my walk, which was embarrassing and frustrating. The latter was made worse from the heat and humidity. The trail portion that was off the paved paths were clear but not clearly marked and I felt like I was just wandering around. Anyway, it was a way to stretch my legs after being in the car for a while, so it wasn’t all that bad.
