This first hike on my 2022 road trip didn’t feel much different than any hike I’ve ever taken in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The terrain was familiar as was the humidity which bordered on brutal. The only thing that snapped me out of the delusion was when the coverage would break and I’d catch glimpses of the hills in the distance, which reminded me that I was a far way from home. The only memorable moments of the hike were the shock of seeing the bottom half of a large, brown animal on the rocks above me, which I thought for sure was a mountain lion but turned-out to be a deer, and the view from Goat Rock Viewpoint. But, again, the view reminded me of all of the hikes I’d taking in central Virginia over the years. Anyway, it was a nice hike and good exercise, just nothing super memorable.
